Mystery Shop: Getting Paid for Takeout!

I completed a third takeout mystery shop this month. It was for one of my favorite restaurants that offers mainly hot wings. The takeout shop that had to be completed between 9PM and close. This shop was contracted by a different mystery shop company so even though I had already completed a takeout mystery shop at this same location earlier this month I could still complete this shop.

This shop had mainly the same requirements including: evaluate the phone call, evaluate the order/wait time, evaluate the associates available when you pick up your order, and evaluate the food.

I would consider this shop again depending on what I was doing that day and if I had a babysitter to watch my son while I ran in to get the food. I almost forgot about this shop though and was already in my pajamas and not too excited about it.

Shopper Reimbursement for items/services purchased: $156
Actual Amount Spent: $22.04
Shop Pay: $5 with a $2 bonus
Mystery Shop Company: GFK Mystery Shopping

My goal is to post about all my mystery shops so if you're interested in mystery shopping you can gain some insight from an experienced shopper. If you would like to learn more about mystery shopping check out this post.

Summer Fun List and Week 6 of Summer

This past week has been so busy! It's amazing how many different activities you can complete in one week. Last Friday we visited Lewis' Farm Market again. I purchased a family pass and I we've definitely got our money's worth out of it now.

In addition to visiting the farm market I was able to cross a few other things off my summer fun list including:

  • Visit friends I haven't been able to visit due to work
  • Find a new place to live
  • Visit the gym 2-3 times a week
  • Have my 3 year old complete swimming lessons

We visited the John Ball Zoo this past week and even rode the camel which was a first for my son. My son and I also attended the kids day expo for the Gerber Baby Food Festival with friends which has become a yearly tradition. We also have plans to attend a pool party at a friends on Sunday that I don't normally get to see since we live too far.
My son also finished up swimming lessons. He's doing a nice job and with some more practice in the pool he'll be fine. He loves the water.
I've been so motivated to head to the gym lately. I made it four times again this past week.
I also found a place to live and am excited to move in the coming month to a new town :)

  • In case you missed it...
I am a teacher and therefore I have summer break "off" (note the quotation marks since I am not technically off the hook completely from work. I have a ton of curriculum planning to do and moving!).

I'm excited that I have been on break officially for a week now and have already accomplished a lot. With that being said, I want to share my summer break fun list (I feel like the name fun list is more exciting than calling them summer goals). Hopefully posting this list will keep me accountable and motivated! I plan on sharing every Thursday my progress updates so check back for photos :)

    Here's my list:

    DIY/Crafting

Use my breadmaker to make homemade bread
Make my own homemade sugar scrub
Make earrings/bobby pins from this kit I previously purchased

Take my 3 year old to see How to Train a Dragon

    Help co-host a birthday/housewarming party

Visit friends I haven't been able to visit due to work
    Pick blueberries :)

Summer Fun List and Week 4 of Summer

So this is a few days late, but better late than never, right? Our week four of summer included the fourth of July. I was able to check clean out my apartment and have a successful yard sale off of my list below.  My son still probably has too many toys, but we did get rid of some stuff and my apartment is looking better which is exciting since we'll be moving in about a month.

In addition to having some fun at the fourth of July parade and my son collecting too much candy, I also was able to visit the gym FOUR times this week. I was pretty excited about that and I love that my son gets to do fun activities at and play with other kiddos the daycare center located inside the gym.

Colton at 6 months and 3.5 years
In addition to all the fun we had this past week we also I think FINALLY kicked a habit. My son is a thumb sucker and when he was a baby it was adorable. Now that he's 3.5 it was getting old (and my pediatrician warned me about jaw/teeth problems due to the habit).  My son always used to suck his thumb while sleepy, but in the car the other day he feel asleep without sucking his thumb. I was so happy.

Mystery Shop: Getting Paid for Takeout Food!

Less than two weeks ago I completed a mystery shop at a restaurant for takeout food. Another takeout mystery shop was available at a different restaurant so I signed up. I love takeout shops since I can simply eat at home and not have to evaluate a waiter/waitress while I'm eating. This shop simply required placing an order for takeout, evaluating the call, pickup experience, and food.

I would definitely do another of these shops in the future, especially since Spies in Disguise pays through Paypal within 15 days of shop completion. Other mystery shop companies can take over a month for payment.

Shopper Reimbursement for items/services purchased: $20
    Actual Amount Spent: $22.04
    Shop Pay: $3
Mystery Shop Company: Spies in Disguise

My goal is to post about all my mystery shops so if you're interested in mystery shopping you can gain some insight from an experienced shopper. If you would like to learn more about mystery shopping check out this post.

Expo: Earn Gift Cards for Video Reviews

It's been awhile since I've posted about this awesome program. If you don't mind creating video reviews I've earned a lot of gift cards and free products from this company!

Expo is one of my favorite programs where you can earn points for reviewing products and redeem the points for gift cards.

With Expo you upload video reviews. In the past I would simply set up my camera and review the product. Since I misplaced it while moving I now just take a video on my smartphone. The reviews need to be over a minute to be valid. Each video review earns points which can be redeemed for prizes or gift cards.

You can upload video reviews for any product, but some products are on the 'Most Wanted' list and receive higher value of points. I just uploaded a video reviewing my cell phone case which was worth 300 points. Gift cards which start at $10 denominations cost 1000 points so approximately 3-4 video reviews and you can redeem.

One of my favorite things about EXPO TV is their Tryology program. By joining the Tryology program you'll be elgible to receive and review products for free! Expo will email you to take a quick survey when they have Tryology programs available. If you're found to be a match you'll receive the product for free in the mail and get to keep it after posting your review.

I have previously received Gain dish soap, Crayola Products, and  Caress body wash to review through Expo Tryology

Want to start reviewing your own products to earn gift cards as well as be eligible to receive free products? You can join Expo here..
